I signed up for the Franklin challenge, to read a minimum of ten books by Australian women writers and review a minimum of six books by Australian women writers. Here's the list of my AWW reviews! <3 <3 <3 (...I promise to be more efficient in 2016!)
I've read a whole heap more wonderful books by Australian women writers this year - such a talented bunch! But there is one series in particular that I'd really like to give a shout out to. We don't review young adult fiction on this blog, but the Colours of Madeleine is a young adult fantasy series that I can't recommend highly enough. I read the first two books in the series, A Corner of White and Cracks in the Kingdom, MULTIPLE TIMES this year because they are too good to read only once. The third in the series, A Tangle of Gold, is releasing in 2016 and I AM SO EXCITED. If you like young adult fantasy (with a gorgeous romantic subplot) then get your hands on these books. They are magical and charming and beautiful and strange and enthralling and bizarre and sweet and heart breaking and uplifting and... just read them.
So here's your challenge: What was the best book by an Australian woman writer that you read this year?
If you didn't read any and you aren't Australian and you have no idea what I'm talking about, please do check out one of the fabulous authors above, we've got some romance superstars down here.
