From the Blurb:
What if you would never remember the day you made the most important decision of your life?
That’s what they’re telling me about the day of my accident—the day I put on Max’s ring and chose him over Nate. I’m counting on the wisdom behind a decision I don’t remember making.
Max is amazing—sexy, sweet, and kind. I was starting to believe happily-ever-after might be in my future after all. Then the unthinkable happened and my world imploded. If I’m going to make this work with Max, I need my missing memories, or at least answers from about those five days before my accident.
But what does my future hold if those answers aren’t anything like I imagined?
Review:
WARNING: This book is the third in the Here and Now Series. It is not a standalone! This review WILL contain spoilers for the first two books. You can find my reviews of the rest of the series here: Book 1: Lost in Me - Book 2: Fall to You
Previously in Here and Now:
Fall to You ended with Hanna discovering that sexy, tasty, rock star of deliciousness, Nate Crane, who also turned out to be her baby-daddy, was still alive! But only after she'd finally relaxed into some semblance of a settled relationship with Max, the man who funded her bakery and who she'd been in love with for years!
Oh no! The sex god is still alive, so Hanna must, yet again, choose between the man who will move mountains to give her the perfect life, and the man who makes her weak at the knees and gives her mind blowing, earth shattering orgasms - what a decision to make! If only we were all that unlucky.
Of course, she still hasn't got all her memories back, and there's still the mystery of what really happened the day of her accident, not to mention the mystery behind why she had chosen Max before her fall. We get all the answers to our burning questions by the end of All for This, despite the fact that this book is, over all, less revelatory than the other books, and more a consolidation of Hanna's feelings.
The Here and Now series is certainly a heart racing read, but this third and final book is more of a slow burn than the two that came before. To me, this is definitely a good thing. After the roller coaster of emotions that followed the confusion of Book One and the revelations of Book Two, I needed room to breathe out the drama and settle into Hanna's feelings around all the changes in her life. More than that, I needed this focus on consolidation to really trust the final romance that had, until Book Three, seemed almost impossible to work out.
So yes, I'm not going to spoil anything. Though I'm usually a fan of spoilers, in this series I couldn't possibly ruin your journey to discovery. I will say that I got my happy ending (Thank you Lexi Ryan!) and it felt believable, honest and right.
Another thing I have to note is the development of Meredith's character. In the previous novels she was presented as something of a villain, but I always had a soft spot for her. It was clear to me that her nastiness came from real sadness, and I'm so glad that Lexi Ryan took the time to explore her villain, giving us more understanding of Meredith, if not complete redemption. Although I was completely caught up in Hanna/Max/Nate, it was Meredith's story that ultimately made this final book special to me.
All For This is a satisfying conclusion to a roller coaster of a series. I feel a little exhausted after putting it down - in a happy, relieved kind of way. What a ride.
All For This by Lexi Ryan (Here and Now Series #3) was released on August 2, 2014, and is available from Amazon.
