From the Blurb:

The second novella in a thrilling, pulse-racing new erotic romance series, Indecent Proposals. Three best friends, Shey, Eloisa and Georgia take on the most powerful and eligible men of the New York dating scene.

Georgia broke away from his mouth, gasping in a lung full of air.
'Max, I need--'
He unwrapped her legs from his waist and placed her back on her feet.
She was about to protest when he broke in, 'I know exactly what you need.'

Striking New York singleton Georgia has never had any trouble attracting men, but she has a surprising secret; she's never had an orgasm.

So when her gorgeous new boss Max Briggs makes her a scandalous offer, she doubts this time will be any different. But what happens when Max discovers her secret? How long will Georgia's resolve last when he becomes determined to be the man to give Georgia her first taste of ecstasy?

Review:

Georgia's pretty mortified when her new, very sexy boss reads one of her very private emails, divulging her deepest secret: she's never had an orgasm. But instead of firing Georgia for this fairly inappropriate use of work computers, he offers her a mutually beneficial deal: if she will pretend to be his girlfriend for a work function, he'll show her what she's been missing. To add to the bargain, he throws in a pretty dress, but even with that cherry on top, Georgia's not so sure this is a good idea.

Although this is Book 2 in the Indecent Proposals series, it can be read as a standalone novella, with each story in this series following one of the three best friends, Georgia, Shey and Eloisa. Book 2 follows Georgia, who is an interesting character. On the one hand, she knows she is attractive to men, and holds herself with a self-assurance that comes from a difficult past that she has overcome. On the other hand, she is desperately unsure of herself when it comes to her own sexual pleasure and, more importantly, Max.

Max is the perfect balance for Georgia. He needs the strength and experience she has in dealing with family tragedy, and despite his intentions to keep her at a distance, he quickly becomes desirous of her emotional strength as well as her physical closeness. He also has the sexual confidence and respect that Georgia needs to learn to understand her own body and discover real pleasure.

To be honest, I was expecting more sex. Given Max's comments implying that Georgia needs to learn to relax and give up control, as well as her own fantasies in the more submissive direction, I was also expecting a little more kink. As it is, this novella is very vanilla with much less sex than the premise implies.

That said, Max and Georgia have a steamy connection. While this might not be the most erotic of erotic romances (I would probably classify it more as contemporary romance, in fact), these characters have a particularly alluring emotional connection that was perhaps more sizzling than anything else.

While it is not quite what I was expecting, What a Girl Needs is a sexy and emotional romance about two people who are perfect for each other, they just have to realize that for themselves.

What a Girl Needs (Indecent Proposals, Book 2) by Aimee Duffy was released by Harper Impulse on March 6 2014, and is available from Amazon.
